How Aviator Simplifies File Updating and Editing

Robert's company just increased its customer support hours to 24 hours a day Monday thru Friday. He needs to change the customer agreement template to show this change for all future customers.

Robert accesses the Policies and Procedures cabinet from the Aviator library. Robert finds the document categorized under 'legal'.

By double-clicking the document, Aviator prompts Robert to launch the file directly from his Notes workspace. Robert knows the file is correct and since he will be editing its content, he chooses to check out the document as well.

Word automatically launches and opens the file for Robert to edit. Robert notes the old service availability times in the Appendix. He changes the appendix to the new 24 hour service, and clicks the save button in Word. This automatically saves the file back into the document in Aviator.

Robert is ready to close the file and move on to other tasks. He selects File - Close from the menu bar. The Aviator dialog pops up to allow Robert to check the document back in. He enters the requested information and selects OK. The file is closed and the document in Aviator is checked back in.

A quick check into the cabinet verifies the new revision of the document. With Aviator, all of Robert's activities to update the file was easily accomplished without detaching or reattaching a file!!
