Aviator Software Appoints Joseph Butare, Finance and Management Veteran, to Board of Directors

Former President and CEO of Multiple New England Banking Institutions Brings Valuable Financial and Management Expertise to Aviator Software's Management Team

TUCSON, Ariz., August 29, 1999 - Aviator Software, Inc., the leading provider of Document Management Technology software, today announced the appointment of Joseph Butare to its board of directors. Mr. Butare has over 20 years experience as President and CEO of various New England banking institutions, and was the youngest person to achieve that position in New England history. His role on the Aviator Software Board of Directors will be to assist and oversee the company's financial strategizing and reporting, as well as its corporate development and management infrastructure. Joe Butare joins Aviator's team as an investor as well.

Joe Butare holds a B.A. in Economics from Harvard College, and an AMP from Harvard Business School. His accomplished career includes President and CEO positions at Mechanics Bank and Guaranty Bank and Trust in Massachusetts, New Hampshire Savings Bank Corporation, and The National Bank and Trust Company in New York, all with assets of $1.0 billion or greater. Now, Joe resides in Tucson, Arizona where he operates Butare Associates as a private investor, venture capitalist and consultant. Joe holds positions in the Tucson community at the Tucson Museum of Art, Rotary Club and Harvard Business School Club of Arizona.
