Aviator Seeks Lotus Business Partners to Integrate its Document Management Toolkit into Business Applications

Integrating Aviator Attach into applications will provide document management functionality, tight integration with Windows applications, and additional revenue streams

ORLANDO, Fla., January 14, 2001 - Aviator Software, Inc., the leading provider of document management technology to the Lotus market, today announced a push to integrate its document management toolkit, named Attach, with Lotus third-party line-of-business applications. Attach will provide Lotus Business Partner applications with world-class document management functionality while benefiting end users with tight integration to their Windows desktop and favorite office productivity applications.

Attach is a document portal that greatly improves and simplifies access to file attachments in Lotus Notes databases from within Windows applications. Files stored in Notes databases are accessed through the Attach Windows dialog, and can be opened, edited, saved, renamed or deleted from Notes documents without having to launch Notes on the PC. Unlike competitive products, Attach is the only stand-alone Windows application for managing files in Notes, and only Attach integrates all Windows applications with Notes, not just Microsoft® Office.

Aviator Software intends to integrate its Attach toolkit with business applications such as project management, sales force automation, customer relationship management, e-commerce and custom applications. With Attach, Lotus Business Partners will add cutting-edge plug-in Document Management Technology to their applications with little up-front investment, increase switching costs from their applications, and generate additional license and service revenue streams.

Aviator Attach is available for evaluation (as a free download from Aviator's Web site) and integration today. The Attach configuration database runs on Domino server versions R4.6 and higher on any supported platform. The Attach plug-in portal requires Notes R4.6 and higher on MS Windows 95, 98, NT and 2000.
